In September, 2022, Wuxin's double-curved arm face drill rigs entered the construction of Hou'an Tunnel of Shenbai High-speed Railway. In order to catch up with the schedule, the project authority decided to use two sets of Wuxin's double-curved arm face drill rigs dolly to fight in parallel with each other, which resulted in high efficiency of the construction, stable output, and the "new scheme of double machines fighting in parallel with each other" for tunnel rock drilling, and gained a high degree of acceptance from the customer.

Shenbai High-speed Railway Hou'an Tunnel, located in Fushun County, Fushun City, is a single-hole, two-lane tunnel and the longest tunnel in the section constructed by China Railway Sixteen Bureau Group, with a total length of 9125 meters. Its inclined shaft whole tunnel is in the high-latitude and severe cold region, with a total length of 880 meters, a comprehensive slope of 10%, and the existence of surface shallow burial, peripheral rock fault fragmentation zones, through the iron ore pit lane and other special geology.

All-around Convenience

Wuxin's first curved-arm structural face drill rigs is characterized by strong adaptability to tunneling method, tunnel section and operator, which can easily cope with the complex and changing geological conditions of Hou'an Tunnel and the requirements of the step method; it can realize the full coverage of construction of Hou'an Tunnel's main hole, inclined shaft, cross-hole, flat guide and other sections; it adopts the remote-control operation, so that the operators of the traditional pneumatic drilling machine can get the job done, and it takes only 10 to 10 days to train up the operating personnel. It takes only 10-15 days to train operators.

Economical and efficient

At present, the equipment is working in the left and right holes of Hou'an Tunnel with 2 palm faces in rotation, and the dual-machine parallel drilling program provided by Wuxin Equipment makes full use of the advantages of the boom to realize the efficient digging of the 4-arms at the same time, and the construction progress is greatly improved.

In the past 4 months, the equipment has been used in the construction of blasting holes, anchor holes and back-arch in Hou'an Tunnel of Shenbai High-speed Railway, and the efficiency of single-hole drilling is equivalent to that of manual pneumatic drilling by 5-6 times, and it can complete the construction of two steps in one palm face in 3.5 hours on average, and the maximum footage of a single cycle is 4.7 meters, which is more than that of manual drilling by 2.2 meters.
